Central Coast Mental Health Week Events
ARAFMI on the central coast of NSW is holding 2 special events for Mental Health Week in October.
Mental health carers ARAFMI – WALK OF PRIDE
Mental health carers ARAFMI on the Central Coast would like to invite everyone to our third annual “Walk of Pride” to be held in Gosford in October – mental health month. This idea originated in ARAFMI in Newcastle and is now a successful annual event in several areas around the country.
Mental health carers ARAFMI has been on the Central Coast for 35+ years. It is an organisation that provides a range of services from support groups, to education programs, young carers services and consumer programs. Pick up a brochure here or ring ARAFMI on 43694233.
All services are provided free to carers and their families.
Why a walk of pride?
- To bring carers, consumers, workers and the general community together.
- To show all that there is no great divide between “us and them”,
- To show that we are all in this together, supporting each other.
- To openly challenge the stigma that still surrounds Mental illness.
- To reduce the shame and blame that create barriers to seeking care.
If you are interested in joining this event or getting more information please ring Mental health carers ARAFMI on 43694233
